“Mr. Goemon” is an arcade game released by Konami in 1986. While the home console series “Ganbare Goemon!” is widely known, the arcade version was released earlier and is considered the original.
In this game, Goemon battles through rough enemies and ninjas while progressing towards the goal. He uses a pipe to strike enemies and throws items to defeat them. A distinctive feature is the use of the joystick to make Goemon jump, and getting used to this unique control system is key. For beginners, it’s a good idea to increase the number of players in the game settings to make it easier to play.
The charm of this game lies in its comedic characters and high-quality music. There’s also the fun of discovering hidden elements. When I played it again after many years, I was surprised when a penguin suddenly appeared on the screen. Another well-known secret is that if you hit the moon with the pipe, you’ll score points, and it will transform into a crescent moon.
